As you’ve probably already guessed, this blog is all about Portugal — and especially about experiencing it beyond the obvious. It’s about small discoveries, scenic drives, coastal escapes, good food, slow moments, and those places that make you think: “I’m glad I found this.”

I am the human behind Cool Portugal Blog, and I am going to help you to plan your travel to Portugal.
and I’ve been living in Lisbon since 2018. What started as a move quickly turned into a love story. Lisbon became my home and Portugal, my playground.
Who’s behind the blog?
I’ve always loved being on the move. Portugal may be a small country, but that’s exactly what makes it perfect for exploring. I love getting into the car without a strict plan, driving until I reach a beautiful town, a quiet beach, or a viewpoint that makes me stop and stay a little longer.
When I’m not on the road, you’ll usually find me:
- by the ocean or along the Tagus River
- riding my bike
- discovering great restaurants
- or relaxing in spas (yes — I really know the good ones 😉)
Over the years, I’ve explored Portugal slowly and intentionally, learning where to go, when to go, and how to truly enjoy each place.
A shared passion
This blog is a shared project with my dear friend Thass, who lives in Porto. While I’m exploring Lisbon, road trips, beaches, and wellness spots, Thass brings her deep knowledge of the north of Portugal — and an excellent appreciation for good wine.
Different cities, different perspectives, same love for Portugal.
Why this blog exists
I know how it feels to plan a trip: the excitement, the research, the endless tabs open, and the fear of missing the best spots while accidentally falling into tourist traps.
I’ve been there — many times.
This blog is my way of sharing what I’ve learned from living here, traveling across the country, and experiencing Portugal like a local. I want to help you:
